CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: “Western Central Railway is continuously striving to provide a clean, pleasant, and environmentally friendly environment at all stations and trains across the three divisions of Jabalpur, Bhopal, and Kota. Regular cleaning is ensured at the stations and trains of these divisions, and passengers are regularly made aware through announcements. As part of this effort, passengers are encouraged to keep the station premises clean, refrain from smoking, and avoid littering. Despite repeated advisories, some people remain negligent, and in such cases, the railway administration imposes fines under the Railway Act from time to time.
During the campaign against littering conducted by the railways from April to July of the current financial year, a total of 4,236 cases were identified, and fines amounting to ₹6,42,625 were collected. In July alone, during the campaign against littering, a total of 1,988 cases were identified, and fines amounting to ₹2,65,790 were collected. In addition to fines, these individuals are also counseled, and they are informed about the damages caused by littering and requested to keep the station premises clean.
The railway administration appeals to passengers to remember that the railway is your own property, and requests you not to litter in the railway premises. Please participate in the efforts made by the railway administration to keep the station environment clean and beautiful. Campaigns against those who litter will continue to be conducted in the future as well.”
