CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Closing Ceremony of Hindi Fortnight Held at the Bhopal Campus of Central Sanskrit University
The closing ceremony of Hindi Fortnight was organized at the Bhopal campus of Central Sanskrit University, under the patronage of Vice-Chancellor Srinivas Barkhedi of Central Sanskrit University, New Delhi. The event was graced by Chief Guest Dr. Gyan Chaturvedi, a renowned physician and litterateur from Bhopal, and Saraswat Guest Dr. Kshama Pandey, a famous Hindi poetess. The ceremony was presided over by Campus Director Ramakant Pandey.
In his address, Chief Guest Dr. Gyan Chaturvedi emphasized the need to instill self-respect and pride in our language. He stated that Hindi is a powerful river that continually carves its own path. While all languages are valuable, Hindi is deeply intertwined with our culture. The importance of a language increases when it becomes a medium of employment.
Saraswat Guest Dr. Kshama Pandey said in her speech that, from a practical perspective, Hindi must become a language spoken by the masses. Although Hindi ranks third in the world in terms of speakers, it is still not officially recognized as India’s national language, which is a matter of great concern. Efforts must be made to accept Hindi as the national language.
Addressing the gathering, Campus Director Ramakant Pandey stated that today, not only literary scholars but also experts in technology, science, and other fields need to have knowledge of Hindi and Sanskrit. The nation requires experts proficient in Hindi who can articulate every subject in the language. He added, “Hindi is the soul of India.”
During the fortnight, competitions such as essay writing, speeches, and Hindi literary song contests were held, in which students actively participated. Winners were awarded prizes on this occasion. Additionally, a one-day workshop was organized for faculty and staff of the campus.
