CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal : A one-day workshop on the topic “Indian Knowledge Tradition and Sources of Science” was organized at the Bhopal campus of Central Sanskrit University. The workshop was conducted under the patronage of Shri Nivas Varkhedi, Vice-Chancellor of Central Sanskrit University, New Delhi. Dr. Atul Kothari, National Secretary of the Education & Culture Promotion Trust, New Delhi, attended as the chief speaker. The program was presided over by Prof. Ramakant Pandey, Director of the Bhopal campus, while the campus’s Deputy Director Govind Pandey was also present.

In his address, chief speaker Dr. Atul Kothari said that Sanskrit students are fortunate to have the opportunity to disseminate India’s knowledge tradition globally. He explained that the National Education Policy 2020 is the first policy that connects modern education with India’s traditional knowledge system. The foundation of this policy is rooted in Indianness. He emphasized that first, we must understand our culture, knowledge, traditions, and philosophy. Education forms the foundation of any nation. To acquire superior knowledge, it is essential to understand the curriculum. The goal of the new education policy is a holistic and focused perspective. Education should facilitate skill development and must be attained comprehensively. Dr. Kothari highlighted that examinations and assessments are major challenges in the current education system, and spirituality should be integrated into education.

The workshop highlighted various aspects of the Indian knowledge tradition.
Campus Director Prof. Ramakant Pandey, in his presidential address, emphasized the importance of understanding and internalizing India’s knowledge tradition. He stated that while this ancient tradition is connected to all humans, it is essential to implement it practically. The workshop was coordinated by Prof. Kripashankar Sharma, with co-coordinator Shravani Pandey.
