CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has said that development works in the state are gaining momentum through the joint efforts of the central and state governments. Schemes that promote industrial expansion, better connectivity and investment can play an important role in strengthening the state’s economy. The Chief Minister made the remarks on Thursday while addressing the two-day ‘Viksit Bharat Industry-Trade Conference’ of the Federation of Madhya Pradesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry at the Kushabhau Thakre auditorium in Bhopal.
Investment proposals worth ₹7,500 crore at the conference: According to the Chief Minister, entrepreneurs presented investment proposals worth about ₹7,500 crore in the state during the conference. He claimed that investment proposals worth ₹12 lakh crore have been brought to the ground in the state over the past two and a half years. The government says efforts are being made to make it easier to set up industries through transparent policies and investment promotion programmes.
Emphasis on Gwalior and the economic corridor: Dr. Yadav referred to the initiative to make Gwalior a major centre for telecom manufacturing. He also described the Jabalpur-Indore Economic Corridor as an important project that would promote industrial and economic activity across different regions of the state. The corridor is expected to connect the Mahakoshal and Malwa regions and also benefit districts such as Raisen.
Target to boost employment and tourism: The Chief Minister said increased investment could create employment opportunities for youth. He also underlined the need to focus on industrial activity and economic prosperity alongside agricultural development. Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Minister Chaitanya Kashyap also stressed creating an industry-friendly environment and increasing investors’ confidence. The real impact of these government initiatives will be assessed through the implementation of investment projects, job creation and regional development outcomes.
