CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: As part of the 10th anniversary of the “Swachhta Hi Seva” campaign, a cleanliness fortnight will be organized from September 17 to October 2, 2024. During this period, extensive awareness about cleanliness will be promoted at the Gram Panchayat level. Additionally, areas where villagers frequently dispose of garbage will be identified as CTUs (Community Treatment Units), and large-scale cleaning will be conducted as part of the campaign.

In this regard, the Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Rituraj, held a meeting with the CEOs of both district Panchayats, along with all Assistant Engineers, Sub-Engineers, ADEOs, PCOs, Block Coordinators, Secretaries, and Employment Assistants. The meeting focused on ensuring that actions are taken according to the prescribed standards under the Swachhta Hi Seva campaign 2024.

The campaign will be carried out under the theme “Behavioral Cleanliness, Cultural Cleanliness.” Along with promoting the campaign and selecting CTUs, cleaning activities will be conducted, and safety camps will be organized for sanitation workers to provide them with benefits from welfare schemes of both the state and central governments.

On September 17, 2024, the birthday of the Prime Minister, a deep cleaning drive will be conducted in all villages, with garbage collection and disposal activities. On October 2, 2024, the 10th anniversary of the Swachh Bharat Mission will be celebrated as “Swachh Bharat Day.”

Other key discussions:

Special attention will be given to cleaning visible areas around villages.

Each Panchayat will select at least 1 and up to 3 CTUs.

Stray animals should not roam on the roads and must be kept in designated cow shelters.

The target of allocated housing should be quickly verified, and further actions should be taken accordingly.
