CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal   /  Chhattisgarh  : In a major relief to candidates of the 2021 Chhattisgarh Public Service Commission (CGPSC) examination, the Chhattisgarh High Court has ordered the state government to issue appointment letters within 60 days to all those candidates found clean in the CBI probe.

The case stems from an alleged recruitment scam during the Bhupesh Baghel-led Congress government, where 171 posts across 20 state services were advertised. Following allegations of irregularities, the appointments were withheld, and a CBI investigation was initiated.

Over 60 aspirants approached the High Court, seeking justice. Justice Amitendra Kishore Prasad ruled that candidates not named in the CBI charge sheet or found guilty of wrongdoing should not be deprived of their appointments. The court added that if future evidence arises, such candidates may be dismissed from service.

This judgment is being seen as a significant victory for merit-based aspirants and a reminder to the state that it cannot compromise the careers of deserving candidates due to administrative delays.
