CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Kanpur. Senior Vishwa Hindu Parishad leader Champat Rai shared several episodes from the life of late leader Ashok Singhal and his association with the Ram Janmabhoomi movement at a programme marking Singhal’s birth centenary year.

Rai said Ashok Singhal would constantly make plans for social and religious work and remained actively involved in ensuring that those plans were carried out.

Referring to an episode from Punjab in 1987, Champat Rai said planning and implementation were important parts of Singhal’s working style. According to him, Singhal often achieved success in the campaigns he planned.

Rai also recalled Ashok Singhal’s contribution to the Ram Janmabhoomi movement. He said Singhal tried to connect people and saints from different parts of the country during the movement. He also played an active role in work linked to Vedic traditions and social harmony.

At the programme, Champat Rai also narrated an episode from Singhal’s student life. He said Singhal later decided to leave his studies and dedicate his life to Hindu cultural work. Various speakers at the birth centenary programme paid tribute to Singhal while remembering his contribution and public life.
