CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: On the occasion of Teachers’ Day, Chhattisgarh held a grand state-level teacher felicitation ceremony at Raj Bhavan, Raipur. Governor Ramen Deka and Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai honored the state’s outstanding teachers for 2024, recognizing their contributions to education and student development.
Addressing the gathering, Governor Deka paid tribute to Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, India’s first Vice President and renowned educationist. He emphasized that teachers are role models for their students and play a crucial role in shaping responsible citizens. Highlighting the importance of innovative teaching, he encouraged educators to make learning engaging, practical, and aligned with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, which focuses on skill-based and holistic education, including instruction in the mother tongue.
Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai lauded teachers as true nation-builders, likening them to lamps that light the way despite challenges. He noted the state’s 25-year development journey, highlighting the expansion of higher education with over 20 universities, 15 medical colleges, and premier institutions like IIT, IIM, AIIMS, and law universities.
School Education Minister Gajendra Yadav announced the names of 64 teachers selected for the 2025 State Teacher Awards. He emphasized that implementing NEP 2020 will further elevate the quality of education in Chhattisgarh, ensuring that every child has access to quality schooling close to their communities.
The ceremony underscored the vital role of teachers in shaping future generations and reinforced the state’s commitment to educational excellence and innovation.
