CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal / Bilaspur, :In a disturbing incident from Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh, two girls have accused a relative — who is a police constable — of forcing them into domestic labor under the false promise of providing education.
The girls alleged that they were brought to Bilaspur with the assurance of schooling but were instead made to do household chores. Troubled by the treatment, both ran away from the home.
The incident came to light on July 20 when police found the girls in the Lalkhadan area. One of the girls revealed the ordeal to the authorities, while the other has remained silent so far.
An FIR has been registered against the accused under Section 75 of the Juvenile Justice Act, 2015. Further action will follow based on the report of the Child Welfare Committee. The case highlights a grim reality — how promises of education are sometimes used as tools of exploitation.
