CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: The Chhattisgarh Excise Department has carried out a major administrative reshuffle, transferring 165 officers and employees across different levels of the department. The transfer list includes 12 District Excise Officers, 31 Assistant District Excise Officers and 57 Excise Sub-Inspectors.
The reshuffle also covers field-level personnel, with 39 head constables and constables being transferred to new locations. In addition, 12 clerical staff members and 14 drivers and peons have been included in the transfer orders. The employees will have to take charge at their respective new postings as directed by the department.
The large-scale exercise has affected officials responsible for both administrative and field operations. District Excise Officers play an important role in overseeing excise-related activities at the district level, while Excise Sub-Inspectors are involved in field duties including inspections, enforcement and action against illegal liquor activities.
With changes extending from senior district-level officers to field personnel and office staff, the reshuffle is expected to alter responsibilities across several districts and offices in the state. The department has issued the transfer orders and directed the concerned personnel to assume their new assignments.
The move represents one of the significant recent administrative changes within the Chhattisgarh Excise Department, covering multiple categories of officers and employees in a single transfer exercise.
