CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Raipur. The Vishnu Deo Sai government in Chhattisgarh has approved recruitment rules to provide reservation in government jobs for former Agniveers. At a meeting of the Council of Ministers chaired by Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, rules related to implementing 10 percent reservation for former Agniveers in Class III posts were approved.
The benefit of this reservation will mainly apply to the posts of constable in the police department, forest guard in the Forest and Climate Change Department, and jail warder in the jail department. For this, the government has approved the “Chhattisgarh Public Service Former Agniveer Soldier Recruitment Rules, 2026”. The rules lay down provisions related to appointment, service conditions, eligibility, recruitment criteria, reservation and the selection process.
The cabinet also approved the decision to make the film “Hanuman Ansh” tax-free in the state. The film is based on the life of Baba Neem Karori. Under the government’s decision, there is a provision to reimburse cinema halls an amount equivalent to the state goods and services tax. The Chief Minister had earlier announced on September 10 that the film would be made tax-free.
The meeting also approved amendments to the guest lecturer policy for government colleges. Under the revised arrangement, if candidates have equal marks, preference will be given to candidates who are native residents of Chhattisgarh. A provision has also been made to award five additional marks for teaching experience of at least five months in one academic session at a state university.
