CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal  /  Bilaspur :  The Chhattisgarh High Court has taken a strong stance on the shocking incident in a government school where 84 students were served dog meat in their mid-day meal. The court directed the state government to pay ₹25,000 to each student within one month, highlighting the severity of the negligence.

The case was heard by a two-judge bench comprising Justice Ramesh Sinha and Justice B.D. Garu. The court said serving dog meat in a school meal was a “serious lapse” on the part of the state government and could have endangered the lives of innocent children.

The High Court emphasized that such incidents reflect a lack of government accountability and oversight in schools. The ruling seeks to ensure justice for the affected students and sends a strong message about child safety and proper implementation of mid-day meal schemes.

Officials of the concerned school and state education department were ordered to comply with the judgment immediately and ensure strict monitoring of meal preparation in all schools to prevent such incidents in the future.

The court’s verdict comes as a reminder of the importance of food safety, hygiene, and child protection in government-run educational institutions. The state government has been directed to report back on compliance within the stipulated timeframe.

This decision reinforces the judiciary’s commitment to protecting children’s rights and holding authorities accountable for lapses in public services.
