CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: The Chhattisgarh School Education Department has announced the holiday schedule for the 2026-27 academic session. Schools across the state will observe a total of 15 days of long vacations for Dussehra, Diwali and the winter break.
According to the schedule, the Dussehra vacation will be observed from October 17 to October 21, 2026, providing five days of holiday. The Diwali break will follow from November 6 to November 10, also covering five days.
The winter vacation has been fixed from December 24 to December 28, 2026. This will provide another five-day break to students and teachers. Together, the three vacation periods account for 15 days during the academic session.
The holiday schedule will apply to government, aided and unaided schools in the state. It will also cover D.Ed., B.Ed. and M.Ed. institutions, according to the department's order issued on September 21, 2026.
The academic session for 2026-27 runs from June 16, 2026, to March 31, 2027. The department has circulated the holiday order to divisional commissioners, district collectors, district education officers and concerned institutions for necessary action.
The advance announcement of the holiday calendar will help students, teachers and parents plan their festive and winter schedules around the prescribed breaks.
