CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: The Chhattisgarh government has approved the Chhattisgarh Export Promotion Policy 2026–30, targeting a doubling of the state’s merchandise exports by March 2030 compared with 2025–26. The policy focuses on strengthening export infrastructure, improving market access and helping local products reach international markets.

Under the policy, exporters will receive financial support for areas including export credit insurance, e-commerce platforms, packaging and logistics. Assistance of up to ₹5 lakh has been proposed for export credit insurance, while exporters can receive up to ₹2 lakh for connecting with e-commerce platforms and up to ₹20 lakh for export logistics through the state’s Inland Container Depot. The policy also provides support for initial transportation from production units to the ICD.

The policy provides additional incentives for ODOP and GI-tagged products, including assistance for international branding and export packaging. First-time exporters will also receive support towards registration costs, while assistance has been provided for GI applications and registration.

Enterprises operating in the Bastar and Surguja divisions, along with women entrepreneurs, SC/ST entrepreneurs, ex-servicemen, Agniveers, exporters from Naxal-affected areas and persons with disabilities, will be eligible for an additional 10% benefit on incentives, subject to policy provisions.

The government also plans to establish an Export Intelligence Cell to provide information on international demand, tariffs, non-tariff barriers and trade opportunities. Training related to export procedures, documentation, quality standards and certification is also envisaged.

Chhattisgarh’s existing export basket includes rice, iron and steel, aluminium, engineering products and other agricultural and forest-based products. The state government says the new policy is intended to increase value-added exports and expand the participation of small businesses and local producers in global markets.
