Markets in Chhattisgarh are expected to see record business this Dhanteras. According to trade estimates, business across the state could be around Rs 12,000 crore. In capital Raipur alone, trade of about Rs 2,000 crore is expected. Markets have brightened up ahead of the festival, and traders expect a strong turnout of customers.
The strongest enthusiasm on Dhanteras is being seen in the jewellery and automobile sectors. As per tradition, customers are heading to jewellery stores and showrooms to buy gold and silver. Given the demand for gold and silver coins, jewellery and other precious items, bullion traders expect better sales.
The automobile market is also showing the impact of the festival. People are preparing to buy cars and two-wheelers on the auspicious occasion of Dhanteras. Apart from this, shopping is also expected to increase at electronics, mobile, utensils, clothing and household goods stores.
Traders have made special preparations at shops and showrooms for the festival. Discounts, gifts and other offers are also being given at several places to attract customers. Trade organisations expect Dhanteras shopping to bring strong economic activity to the market. However, the figures of Rs 12,000 crore for the state and Rs 2,000 crore for Raipur are currently based on estimates.
