CNN Central News & Network – ITDC India E-Press / ITDC News Bhopal / Raipur: Chhattisgarh has once again distinguished itself in the field of cleanliness on a national level. According to the Swachh Survekshan 2024-25 report released by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, the Bilha Municipality (Bilaspur district) has secured the first position in the category of cities with a population of less than 20,000. This achievement is a testament to the collective efforts of the local administration, citizens, and sanitation workers.
Additionally, three cities from Chhattisgarh have found a place in the Super Sanitation League, highlighting the state’s strong sanitation framework. Raipur has been declared the “Promising Clean City” of the state this year, reflecting the ongoing development and consistent cleanliness efforts in the capital.
Under Swachh Survekshan 2024-25, the Government of India assessed cities based on various parameters such as solid waste management, citizen participation, waste segregation, and ODF (Open Defecation Free) status. Bilha Municipality performed exceptionally well across all these criteria to earn this honor.
The state government and the Urban Administration Department have congratulated all concerned officers, employees, and citizens on this achievement, and expressed hope that in the coming years, Chhattisgarh will continue to set examples of cleanliness in other cities as well.
