CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has approved the country’s largest ethane cracker project to be set up in Asta tehsil of Sehore district by Gail (India) Limited. Chief Minister Yadav expressed hope that this project would provide employment to local people and boost industrialization in the state. He directed for expeditious allocation of land required for the project.

It is noteworthy that this project, with an investment of around Rs 60,000 crores, will be the country’s largest ethane cracker project. The project also proposes a greenfield petrochemical complex, which will produce petrochemicals like LLDPE, HDPE, MEG, and propylene. During the construction period, about 15,000 people, and during the operational period, about 5,600 people are expected to get employment. The project also includes the proposed township on 70 hectares of land. The groundbreaking ceremony for the project is expected by next February, and commercial production is likely to commence in the financial year 2030-31.

The meeting, held at the Madhya Pradesh Bhavan, was attended by Chandramouli Shukla, Managing Director of Madhya Pradesh State Industrial Development Corporation, and R.K. Singhal, Director of Gail (India) Limited.
