CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav Unveils ‘Sadanira’ Booklet at Vallabh Bhavan
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav released the Water Resources Department’s booklet titled “Sadanira – Water Resources, Let the Flow Continue” at Vallabh Bhavan (State Secretariat).
This booklet highlights the water conservation efforts carried out in the year 2025 under the Jal Ganga Sanvardhan Abhiyan (Water and River Conservation Campaign).
Present on the occasion were Water Resources Minister Tulsiram Silawat, Panchayat Minister Prahlad Patel, and MSME Minister Chaitanya Kashyap.
Congratulating all the officials on the success of the campaign, the Chief Minister said:
“Our rivers, ponds, and water sources are the foundation of life. The combined efforts of the government and society toward their conservation are truly commendable and exemplary.”
🛠️ Inspired by PM Modi’s “Catch the Rain” Campaign
Water Resources Minister Silawat shared that the campaign, inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “Catch the Rain” initiative, was conducted from March 30 to June 30, 2025.
It operated on the principle:
“Water of the field should remain in the field; water of the village should remain in the village.”
This approach turned water conservation into a people’s movement.
📊 Major Achievements of the Campaign
During the campaign:
In 55 districts, out of 2,444 water structures, 2,190 were restored.
Activities included canal cleaning, removal of encroachments, and tree plantation.
Notable progress was recorded in Ujjain, Indore, Narmadapuram, and Rewa regions.
The booklet notes that the restoration of historic water structures like Mata Ahilya Bawdi and Kanadia Lake gave a new direction to water awareness.
The campaign emphasized public participation, technology integration, and transparency, making it a nationally replicable model.
