CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: The Executive Director of All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Bhopal, Prof. (Dr.) Ajay Singh, paid a courtesy visit to Minister of Public Health and Family Welfare and Medical Education, Mr. Rajendra Shukla, at his official residence. During the meeting, Prof. Singh apprised the Deputy Chief Minister of AIIMS’s achievements and discussed the emergency medical service provision system in Madhya Pradesh.

Two years ago, AIIMS did not rank in any category of the best medical institutions in the country. However, over the past two years, AIIMS has made tremendous progress. Prof. Singh took charge in August 2022 and implemented several stringent measures to strengthen AIIMS’s reputation, which yielded results the following year. In the category of government medical colleges, AIIMS saw a significant improvement in its overall ranking, climbing from 20th position in 2023 to 16th in 2024. Additionally, AIIMS secured the second position in the list of best emerging colleges and achieved third place among the highest-scoring colleges established in or after the year 2000.

Dr. Singh detailed the progressive steps AIIMS has taken in the field of emergency health services. He emphasized that AIIMS is continuously incorporating advanced technologies to ensure swift treatment during emergency situations. He also informed the Chief Minister about the emergency medical training provided to over 500 doctors and nursing officers from various primary health centers across Madhya Pradesh, in collaboration with the National Health Mission of Madhya Pradesh. This training will enable efficient management of trauma and emergency cases throughout the state.

The Chief Minister expressed his appreciation for AIIMS’s achievements and conveyed his satisfaction. He reiterated that AIIMS will always strive to enhance the health of the state’s residents and others, thereby strengthening the state’s healthcare infrastructure.
