CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Madhya Pradesh, organized a members’ meet with Dr. Suchitra K. Ella, Vice President, CII, and Co-founder & Managing Director of Bharat Biotech International Limited. The event was graced by Siddharth Chaturvedi, Chairman, CII Madhya Pradesh and Director, AISECT Limited, and Saurabh Singh Mehta, Vice Chairman, CII Madhya Pradesh and Director, Kriti Nutrients Pvt. Ltd.

The session witnessed participation from leading representatives of the industry, who deliberated on emerging economic trends and key industry-related issues.

In her address, Dr. Ella highlighted Madhya Pradesh as an emerging growth engine in Central India, driven by its strategic location, diverse economic structure, and investment-friendly policies. She described the state’s recognition as a “Top Achiever” in the Business Reforms Action Plan (BRAP 2024) as a testament to its commitment. She also spoke about the state’s transition towards an innovation-driven economy, including advancements in startups, MSME modernization, adoption of Industry 4.0, and expansion of IT and ITES sectors, supported by a strong talent base.

Referring to global economic challenges, particularly the West Asia crisis, Dr. Ella presented CII’s 12-point industry agenda. She urged industries to strengthen supply chains, develop strategic reserves, accelerate energy transition, adopt technology-driven solutions, and support MSMEs through improved payment mechanisms and collaboration.

She also shared key policy recommendations proposed by CII to support industries, including the introduction of an Emergency Credit Line Guarantee Scheme for dispute-related cases, temporary relief measures for MSMEs and exporters, increased availability of working capital, concessional credit facilities, and faster processing of GST refunds and commercial dues.

Highlighting CII’s legacy of over 130 years, Dr. Ella described it as a powerful developmental institution that plays a crucial role as a bridge between industry and government, driving major reforms and fostering a conducive business environment.

During the interactive Q&A session, meaningful discussions were held on strengthening industry-academia collaboration. Dr. Ella emphasized that local engineering institutions should move beyond theoretical education and adopt a practical, problem-solving approach. She suggested that institutions collaborate with leading institutes for guidance and establish strong partnerships with industries. She also recommended that institutions identify their core strengths and develop specialized clusters to achieve industry-oriented and measurable outcomes.

Speaking on the initiative, CII Madhya Pradesh Chairman Siddharth Chaturvedi stated that such platforms act as a strong bridge between industry, academia, and policy-making. He noted that Madhya Pradesh is rapidly emerging as a hub of industrial opportunities, and such dialogues will further accelerate innovation, investment, and skill-based development in the state.

The session saw enthusiastic participation from industry members and proved to be an important platform for dialogue, collaboration, and exchange of valuable ideas.
