CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Delhi: Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) chief spokesperson Saurav Das has alleged that the government is planning to arrest him and other party leaders, including founder Abhijeet Dipke, Ashutosh Ranka and Ratna Singh, ahead of the proposed October 10 protest in Delhi. Das made the claim in a social media post but did not provide evidence or details to substantiate the allegation. He urged supporters to continue the protest movement even if senior leaders are detained, calling for what he described as the biggest mobilisation from October 10. Dipke also responded to the alleged arrest plan, saying the campaign would continue and questioning how many leaders could be detained. The CJP has announced a major demonstration at Jantar Mantar over its demand for the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar and its objections to the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls. The latest claims come amid heightened tensions following recent protests by the group and other organisations. Police had earlier detained around 110 people during a protest in Delhi, while authorities have also registered cases linked to demonstrations in Mumbai. CJP leaders have maintained that possible arrests would not stop their campaign. The allegations about planned arrests have not been independently confirmed by government authorities. The proposed October 10 mobilisation is expected to keep the electoral-roll controversy and the CJP’s demands in public focus.
