CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: State-level classical competitions are being organized at the Bhopal campus of the Central Sanskrit University until 23.01.2025. Approximately 200 students from Madhya Pradesh will participate in these competitions.
Participants recite various classical texts from memory and demonstrate their expertise. Students from different Gurukuls in Madhya Pradesh, run by the Patanjali Sanskrit Institute, as well as students from other colleges and universities, will showcase their talents.
The honorable Vice-Chancellor of the Central Sanskrit University, Srinivas Barkhedi, aims to preserve Shastra (scriptures), emphasize the Shastra methodology, and establish the Shastra tradition globally.
The main topics of the classical competitions include:
Speech Competitions: Grammar, Astrology, Vedanta, Literature, Jain-Buddhist Philosophy, Indian Science, and Samkhya Yoga.
Recitation Competitions: Ashtadhyayi, Subhashitas, Dhatus, Poetry, Ramayana, Gita, Upanishads, Amarakosha.
Other Competitions: Grammar Salaka, Poetry Salaka, Aksharashloki, and Spontaneous Response (Sphurti).
All these competitions will be held at the Central Sanskrit University’s Bhopal campus. The program coordinator is Pradeep Kumar Pandey.
