Ahead of Diwali, footfall has increased in Lakhimpur Kheri markets as people shop for clay lamps. From the morning, customers began arriving at shops and pavements where potters were selling lamps. People were seen buying traditional clay lamps to illuminate their homes.

Shoppers said the Diwali festival is incomplete without clay lamps. Despite the growing trend of modern decorative lights, people’s attraction to traditional lamps remains intact. Several families bought lamps of different sizes and designs for worship and home decoration.

As the festival approaches, markets are becoming livelier. Sales of clay lamps have also raised hopes of business for local potters and small shopkeepers. People’s purchases are encouraging the traditional culture of Deepotsav and the hard work of local artisans.
