CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: The Institute of Pharmacy and the National Service Scheme (NSS) unit of Rabindranath Tagore University jointly organized a cleanliness and awareness campaign at the government high school campus in Tilendi village on the occasion of NSS Foundation Day and World Pharmacist Day. Students and teachers actively participated in this campaign.

NSS volunteers cleaned the campus with slogans such as “Three enemies of nature – pouches, foils, polythene,” “Pick up your own trash, keep home and surroundings clean,” and “We change, the world will change.” Additionally, a street play highlighting the significance of Pharmacist Day was performed to raise awareness about the correct use of medicines and how to avoid their side effects.

The event was attended by Principal of the Institute of Pharmacy, Durga Pandey; Dean of Medical Education Faculty, Dr. C. P. Mishra; Program Officer Gabbar Singh; and the school’s Principal, Mrs. Kamlesh Mishra. During the program, students were given pens, pencils, soap, and other items and were encouraged to adopt cleanliness habits. Dr. C. P. Mishra said that NSS is an important platform for the personality development of students, and every young person should participate in it. Dr. Durga Pandey described Pharmacist Day as an initiative that enhances people’s correct understanding of medicines and fosters respect toward them. Program Officer Gabbar Singh highlighted the establishment of NSS on 24 September 1969 and its achievements.

School Principal Kamlesh Mishra appreciated the university and the pharmacy institute, stating that connecting students with the rural environment is indeed a positive step. Volunteers Danish Khan, Kunal Singh, Jyoti Kumari, Adarsh Raj, Insha, Shumayla, Runjhun, and Animesh played a key role in the success of the program. This event proved to be a motivating experience for students, instilling values of cleanliness, service, and social responsibility.
