CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: AIIMS Bhopal, under the leadership of Executive Director Dr. Ajay Singh, has launched a significant initiative for children who have battled cancer in their early years. The institute inaugurated a “Post-Treatment Pediatric Clinic” and a state-of-the-art playroom. This clinic is dedicated to children who have completed cancer treatment and now require long-term healthcare support.
In today’s time, around 80% of children with cancer can recover completely if provided timely and proper treatment. However, even after recovery, they often face complications related to growth, hormones, heart, brain, and mental health. Considering these aspects, the post-treatment clinic operates with a multidisciplinary team comprising pediatric oncologists, cardiologists, neurodevelopmental specialists, psycho-oncologists, nutritionists, and other experts.
On this occasion, Dr. Singh stated, “Treatment is not just about medicine, it is a process of restoring hope and happiness.” He also inaugurated a playroom, developed in collaboration with the CanKids…KidsCan organization, aimed at supporting children’s mental well-being and joy during treatment.
The event was graced by the presence of faculty members from the Department of Pediatrics, the Medical Superintendent, and other dignitaries. With this dedicated approach, AIIMS Bhopal is taking a new step toward a better future for children.
