CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: The All India Educational, Cultural, and Sports Competitions, which had been ongoing for the past two days at Central Sanskrit University, Bhopal campus, concluded with the distribution of first, second, and third prizes to the winners of 40 competitions. Central Sanskrit University, Jaipur campus, secured the first position with 17 gold and 8 silver medals, followed by Central Sanskrit University, Bhopal campus, with 8 gold and 9 silver medals, and Shrimad Dayanand Kanya Gurukul College, Chotipura, claiming the third position with 7 gold and 4 silver medals.

The event commenced with a warm welcome from Neelabh Tiwari, the Associate Director of Central Sanskrit University, Bhopal campus, who emphasized that such competitions contribute to the physical, spiritual, and emotional development of students. Professor Bharat Bhushan Mishra, the convener of the event, presented a detailed report on the three-day competition.

Chief Guest Abhiraj Rajendra Mishra, former Vice-Chancellor of Sampurnanand Sanskrit University, Varanasi, highlighted the responsibility of Sanskrit teachers and students to not only preserve the wealth of the language but also to enhance it with their creativity. He stressed that the knowledge contained in Sanskrit is powerful enough to re-establish India as a world leader. He noted that India’s ancient scriptures, Upanishads, Puranas, and Smritis, are evidence of the advanced nature of Indian civilization and need to be studied and applied in modern contexts.

Guest of Honor, Shishir Kumar Pandey, Vice-Chancellor of Jagadguru Rambhadracharya Divyang University, Chitrakoot, emphasized the importance of extracurricular activities in maintaining physical and mental balance, which contributes to overall success in life. Special Guest, R.G. Murali Krishna, Registrar of Central Sanskrit University, New Delhi, expressed pride in the Sanskrit students’ participation in both academic and personality-building activities. He mentioned that similar All India Educational, Cultural, and Sports Competitions are being organized in all four directions of the country, with participation from various Sanskrit institutions, showcasing exceptional performances.

Presiding over the closing ceremony, Director of Central Sanskrit University, Bhopal campus, Prof. Ramakant Pandey congratulated all participants and their mentors for their efforts in making the event a success. He acknowledged the organizing committee’s efforts, emphasizing that such competitions help students apply theoretical knowledge from books and scriptures to practical life situations, enhancing decision-making and personal growth.

During the event, a research journal Shastra Mimamsa, published by the Bhopal campus, was also launched. The honored guests presented awards to all mentors. Prof. Dharmendra Kumar Singh Deo announced the winners for the prize distribution. The closing session concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Mohini Arora, and the session was conducted by Pradeep Kumar Pandey.
