CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Water Conservation and Water Enhancement Campaign Across the State Since March 30, a Water Ganga Conservation Campaign has been running across the entire state, which will continue until June 30. This campaign primarily includes tasks such as pond pitching, boulder toe work, repairing embankments (bunds), and cleaning canals, which are being carried out with the participation of the public and collaboration from social organizations. Under this campaign, 2,444 water conservation and enhancement works have been proposed across 10 river basins (catchment areas) in 55 districts of the state. As of today, 1,056 works have been completed, which is 43% of the set target. The remaining tasks will be completed within the scheduled time frame.

On Tuesday, Water Resources Minister Tulsi Ram Silawat submitted a departmental progress report on the Water Ganga Conservation Campaign to Chief Minister Mohan Yadav at the Ministry. Minister Silawat mentioned that water conservation and enhancement activities are being carried out on a war footing in all districts of the state. The state-level control room is continuously monitoring the work being carried out across the state and is providing regular reports.

Minister Silawat emphasized that the country’s popular Prime Minister Narendra Modi has made a commitment to ensure that every citizen of India has access to sufficient water and that the environment is preserved. To fulfill this commitment, under the skilled leadership of Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, water conservation is being concretely implemented in the state. The campaign has called upon all citizens to consider water conservation as their duty and join in. This initiative by the Chief Minister will not only prove to be a milestone in environmental protection but will also make a significant contribution in safeguarding and maintaining water resources and structures for future generations.
