CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: In a move aimed at making government functioning in Madhya Pradesh more accountable and transparent, Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav has taken forward the ‘Jan Vishwas’ initiative. Under it, the disposal of government schemes, public grievances and pending cases is being monitored continuously. The campaign aims to ensure that ordinary people receive the benefits of government services on time and that the administrative system becomes more effective.
Weekly review of districts’ work
Under the Jan Vishwas campaign, special monitoring is being carried out of the functioning of district administrations. Collectors have been asked to regularly provide information on ongoing work in their respective districts, pending complaints and the progress made in resolving them. This will help the government assess district-wise performance and intervene immediately wherever required.
Emphasis on disposal of pending complaints
The government’s main focus is on reducing long-pending cases and public grievances. In a recent review, information emerged that a large number of pending complaints have been disposed of under the Jan Vishwas campaign. A reduction has also been recorded in the number of cases pending for more than 100 days.
Effort to increase accountability in administration
The government believes that along with announcing schemes, their effective implementation at the ground level is also necessary. Through the Jan Vishwas initiative, emphasis is being placed on fixing the responsibility of officials, monitoring the timeline for resolving complaints and providing better government services to citizens.
Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav’s initiative is being seen as an important step towards strengthening good governance and public service. In the coming period, it is expected that the performance of districts will be monitored in a more systematic manner through the portal and weekly reviews.
