Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, while addressing a state-level public meeting in Tikarwara village of Mandla district, made several significant announcements for the welfare of women, farmers, and the tribal community. He emphasized that the state government is committed to making women self-reliant, empowered, and respected.
Under the “Ladli Behna Yojana,” CM Yadav transferred ₹1,552 crore to 1.27 crore women in the state, ₹340 crore to 56.68 lakh pension beneficiaries, and ₹57 crore to 25 lakh women under the Ujjwala Yojana—all with a single click. On this occasion, he also honored Shuchi Upadhyay, who was selected for the Indian women’s cricket team.
He announced 66 development projects worth ₹232 crore for Mandla district, including bridges, roads, and water supply schemes. A new bridge on the Surkhi-Indri road costing ₹16.61 crore and the inauguration of the Amar Shaheed Shankar Shah–Raghunath Shah bridge over the Banjar River were part of the program.
At a mass wedding ceremony held under the Mukhyamantri Kanya Vivah/Nikah Yojana, over 1,100 newlywed couples were blessed by the CM, who also distributed ₹49,000 each and urged people to reject social evils like dowry, lavish rituals, and post-death feasts.
He further announced the development of a “Vrindavan Gram” (model spiritual village) in every block. For farmers, new initiatives were introduced, including solar pumps, government purchase of surplus electricity, and a 25% subsidy scheme for rearing 25 cows or buffaloes.
Union Minister Faggan Singh Kulaste, Minister of Public Health Engineering Sampatiya Uike, local MLAs, and numerous public representatives were present at the event, which was attended by thousands of beneficiaries and villagers.
