CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal / Raipur : In a deeply symbolic gesture of reverence and support, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai showered flower petals on Kanwariyas from a helicopter as they undertook their sacred pilgrimage. The act took place as thousands of devotees carrying holy Ganga water traversed through the state during the Shravan month, heading towards various Shiva temples.

The aerial shower took place over prominent pilgrimage routes, where CM Sai greeted the devotees from the sky and offered blessings for their spiritual journey. Visuals and videos of the gesture have since gone viral on social media, with many praising the CM’s effort to acknowledge the faith and devotion of Kanwariyas, who brave long distances on foot in the searing monsoon heat.

CM Sai also addressed a gathering of Kanwariyas at a rest point, where he applauded their spiritual commitment and assured them of full administrative support. Temporary shelters, medical aid camps, water stations, and traffic management had already been arranged along the major Kanwar routes by the state administration. He emphasized the government’s role in ensuring the smooth and safe passage of all devotees.

This gesture comes as part of a wider initiative by the Chhattisgarh government to promote religious tourism and preserve the state’s spiritual traditions. Many believe that such gestures strengthen the emotional bond between the government and the public, particularly those engaged in traditional practices.

The Chief Minister’s action has been welcomed across social and religious communities, and many see it as a respectful nod to the state’s vibrant cultural and religious fabric.
