CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: On Monday, the Bhoomi Pujan for the new building of the Dattopant Thengadi Research Institute was held in front of the Journalist Colony, Link Road Number 3, Bhopal. On this occasion, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav addressed the gathering in the presence of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) All India Executive Member Suresh Soni, Minister of Higher Education Inder Singh Parmar, Minister of Culture Dharmendra Singh Lodhi, Institute President Ashok Pandey, and other dignitaries.

In his address, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav emphasized the importance of returning to India’s ancient knowledge traditions in the current global context. Referring to ancient universities like Takshashila and Nalanda, he said that India has been a center of knowledge for centuries, attracting students from all over the world. He stressed the need for institutions that conduct research focusing on Indian ideas and thoughts to promote research on various aspects of life.

RSS All India Executive Member Suresh Soni, in his address, spoke about how Indian society has always been operated through Aryanik, Gramya, and Nagari systems. He emphasized the need to maintain balance with nature, saying that not only humans but animals, birds, plants, rivers, mountains, etc., also have equal rights on the Earth. He stated that the more intelligent one is, the greater their responsibility.

Minister of Higher Education, Inder Singh Parmar, praised Dattopant Thengadi’s India-centric thoughts and noted that his contributions have enriched the Indian knowledge tradition. He mentioned that in Madhya Pradesh, the environment for research in line with the Indian knowledge tradition and the National Education Policy 2020 has improved, and it is necessary to make education, culture, and research India-centric.

Culture Minister Dharmendra Singh Lodhi referred to the institute’s studies on tribal culture, saying that the new building would help in fulfilling its objectives. He mentioned that the revered Thengadi was a unique fusion of nationalism and modernity and wanted the country’s development to be based on India’s ancient knowledge and education.

Ashok Pandey, President of the Dattopant Thengadi Research Institute, explained that the institute is spreading unity in society through its fundamental research and promoting inclusive research. Director Dr. Mukesh Mishra detailed the institute’s progress, stating that it has played a key role in promoting India-centered thought in the field of research and in making cultural discourse in the academic world more India-centric.

During the event, posters in Hindi and English for the upcoming three-day National Researchers’ Conference, which will be held from March 1, 2025, were released. Additionally, the institute’s annual magazine ‘Sanket Rekha’ was also launched. At the end of the ceremony, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav and other guests planted trees in the campus, conveying a message of environmental conservation.

Officials from various universities, academic institutions, subject experts, and researchers participated in the event. Senior journalist Vijay Manohar Tiwari conducted the program.

This new building of the Dattopant Thengadi Research Institute will play a significant role in bringing various aspects of Indian knowledge traditions to society and will provide a new direction for research from an Indian perspective.
