CNN Central News & Networks / ITDC India Epress / ITDC News / Agencies: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath launched a sharp political attack on the Samajwadi Party during a programme in Gonda. He described the SP as a curse for the state’s development and alleged that whenever the party comes to power, an atmosphere of disorder and anarchy is created in the state. The Chief Minister said Uttar Pradesh has seen several changes in development, law and order, and basic amenities over the past few years.
Addressing a programme linked to development projects in Gonda, the Chief Minister said the state government’s objective is to develop all regions without any discrimination. Referring to schemes related to roads, electricity, health, education and infrastructure, he said continuous efforts are being made to ensure that the benefits of development works reach the common people.
Targeting the opposition, Yogi Adityanath alleged that during the tenure of previous governments, the state’s law and order situation was affected and development works could not gain the expected pace. He said the current government is working to create a safe environment in the state by adopting a strict stance against crime and corruption.
The Chief Minister also said Uttar Pradesh is now moving towards new opportunities in investment, employment and industrial development. He described local development projects as important for the region’s economic activity and public amenities.
After the Chief Minister’s statement, the exchange of allegations between the BJP and the Samajwadi Party in state politics has again come into discussion. The political debate is likely to intensify further after the SP’s response to these allegations comes out.
