CNN Central News & Networks / ITDC India ePress / ITDC News /Agencies/ Bhopal: To ensure medical arrangements during the winter season and festivals, CMHO Bhopal Manish Sharma on Tuesday visited the Regional Institute of Respiratory Diseases and Hamidia Hospital. During the visit, after discussions with the hospital superintendent, it was agreed that an OPD for respiratory and chest-related diseases would also be run daily at Hamidia Hospital.
When pollution levels rise during festivals, the possibility of respiratory and chest-related diseases increases. In view of this, a respiratory and chest OPD is also being started at Hamidia Hospital. Specialist doctors will provide services there under the supervision of the Pulmonary Department of Gandhi Medical College, with duties assigned through a roster.

During the visit, the CMHO also inspected the services of the burn unit at Hamidia Hospital. The unit will have facilities available for the treatment of serious burn cases caused by firecrackers during festivals. Chief Medical and Health Officer Bhopal Manish Sharma said that, considering the possibility of an increase in burn and respiratory cases in the coming days, arrangements at hospitals in the district are being reviewed.
