CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: District hospitals where there is no government sonologist, or where the sonologist is on long leave, and all health institutions identified under the Extended Pradhan Mantri Surakshit Matritva Abhiyan will be able to refer pregnant women to private sonography centres for USG tests. After a complete examination of the pregnant woman, advice for sonography will be given during OPD hours through gynaecologists, PGMOs and medical officers of government health institutions. In emergency situations, sonography may be advised up to a maximum of two times in indicated cases.
The process of providing honorarium to sonologists through digital cashless payment has been simplified. Under this, payment will be processed by creating an e-voucher on the SUMAN USG portal. After the e-voucher is created, the voucher will be approved by the health institution. Pregnant women will be able to get a free test within seven days using the e-voucher SMS received on their mobile phones. Private health institutions will be paid Rs 500 per case for this service by the National Health Mission through the Sparsh portal.
Chief Medical and Health Officer, Bhopal, Dr Manish Sharma said that by viewing the special findings of sonography of pregnant women on the SUMAN USG portal, it will become easier to obtain information about pregnancy-related risks.
