CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: “On the occasion of World Health Day, a CME was organized by the Orthopedics Department of AIIMS Bhopal on Pediatric Osteoarticular Infection, under the auspices of the Association of Pediatric Orthopedic Surgeons, Bhopal Orthopedic Surgeon Society, and the MP Chapter of IOA. Ajay Singh, the Executive Director of AIIMS Bhopal, who himself is a pediatric orthopedic surgeon, addressed the participants and commended the establishment of the Association of Pediatric Orthopedic Surgeons, which is a state-level association of pediatric orthopedic surgeons in Madhya Pradesh. He emphasized on diagnosing and managing septic arthritis and acute osteomyelitis in newborns and children, and also stressed on promoting translational research in pediatric orthopedics.

Professor Rehan Ul Haq, Head of Research and Orthopedics Department, along with Pratik Behra, provided insights into the ongoing work in the field of orthopedics, pediatric orthopedics, arthroplasty, arthroscopy, hand surgery, spine surgery, and complex trauma surgery at AIIMS Bhopal.

During the CME, discussions were held on topics related to the diagnosis, management, and specific features of bone and joint infections in the pediatric age group. Emphasizing on a multi-disciplinary approach, representatives from the departments of radiodiagnosis and microbiology also participated in the CME. Following the introductory lecture sessions, a special session was organized for case discussions with active participation from members, representatives, residents, and doctors from various medical colleges, with more than 90 participants contributing to the CME.”
