CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: With the objective of making Bhopal city’s traffic system safer, smoother and more organised, Collector Priyank Mishra and Police Commissioner Sanjay Kumar jointly carried out an intensive inspection of the city’s key roads and intersections. During the joint visit, the officials reached Polytechnic Square, Depot Square, Smart City Road and Bagsewania Square and reviewed the situation on the ground.

Special emphasis on making left turns obstruction-free

During the inspection, Collector Priyank Mishra, giving top priority to road safety, directed that the “left turn” at various intersections be made completely obstruction-free and properly organised. He said necessary improvements should be made at intersections for the smooth movement of vehicles so that traffic is not obstructed even during peak hours. He also instructed the departments concerned to make proper arrangements for zebra crossings, necessary signages and compliance with traffic rules.

Collector Mishra and Police Commissioner Kumar also closely reviewed the Smart City area and Depot Square. The officials made it clear that there would be no compromise of any kind with public safety. Improvement works at these identified hotspots will be started without delay through coordination among the Public Works Department, Municipal Corporation and Traffic Police, so that citizens can get safe and uninterrupted movement.

Senior officials of the Municipal Corporation, Smart City, Revenue Department and Traffic Police were present during the joint inspection.
