CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: The weekly review meeting of time-limit (TL) letters was held in the meeting hall of the Collector’s office under the chairmanship of Collector Priyank Mishra. In the meeting, the Collector conducted a detailed review of government work across various departments and issued necessary directions for effective implementation of public welfare schemes and strengthening inter-departmental coordination. He made it clear that negligence or laxity at any level in discharging administrative responsibilities would not be accepted, and said all officers must remain active with full sensitivity in matters of public interest.
In view of the upcoming Assembly session, Collector Mishra directed all departmental officers to ensure that replies to questions raised in the Assembly are sent with complete accuracy, facts and within the stipulated time limit. He said any delay in this matter would not be tolerated. While stressing the need to strengthen the functioning of the District Disaster Management Authority, he said all departments should work in active coordination in view of the monsoon and other emergency situations. In any sudden situation, the disaster management response time should be minimal, and continuous follow-up should be taken on all pre-decided safety measures. Discussing the Jal Ganga Samvardhan Abhiyan, he directed all departments to organise dignified programmes at the conclusion of the campaign, prominently showcase notable works, and ensure the participation of local public representatives in these events.
During the review of revenue works, Collector Mishra directed patwaris to work with weekly targets to speed up the Farmer Registry work. He warned that strict disciplinary action would be taken against those who fail to show the expected progress in this work. Along with this, while reviewing pending complaints on the Chief Minister’s Helpline, he asked officers to ensure quick and satisfactory resolution. The Agriculture Department was specifically directed to carry out fertiliser distribution in the district only through the e-Vikas portal, so that the entire distribution system remains transparent, controlled and convenient.
Collector Priyank Mishra reminded all sub-divisional officers in the district of their core administrative responsibilities and said they are the “incident commanders” of their respective areas. Therefore, they must remain highly alert toward all their primary responsibilities. He directed that any school or Anganwadi building in a dilapidated or unsafe condition in their areas be vacated immediately so that there is no compromise with children’s safety. He also instructed officers to maintain constant coordination with public representatives for resolving local public issues and, in the event of any emergency in the area, to immediately take charge on the ground and carry out effective action.
Reviewing the School Education Department, Collector Mishra directed officers to ensure a significant increase in student enrolment at the start of the new academic session and accurate tracking of dropout children. He said coordination should be established with the Labour Department to list children who have left studies, so that they can be brought back into the mainstream of education. Officers should themselves visit field areas and ensure that children’s APAAR IDs are created, he said, adding that they should not depend only on information from subordinates but resolve problems practically through their own site inspections. Directions were also given to immediately complete the survey work for shifting co-located Anganwadis to schools under the New Education Policy.
To accelerate the work of the Health Department, the Chief Medical and Health Officer was directed to ensure 100 per cent data entry of women suffering from anaemia and bring positive improvement in the district’s health indicators by conducting intensive follow-up of women with high-risk pregnancies. To check the quality and validity of medicines, the Collector directed joint intensive inspections of medical shops in the district along with the Drug Inspector and Food Safety Officer, so that integrity is maintained in the medical sector.
During the review of the Public Health Engineering Department, Collector Mishra emphasised the smooth operation of tap-water schemes in rural areas. He said schemes where there are technical problems related to water sources or pipelines should be repaired immediately on priority so that citizens can easily get drinking water. Finally, the Labour Department was directed to register the maximum number of eligible workers under the Pradhan Mantri Shram Yogi Maandhan Yojana. He asked the department to prepare a detailed and time-bound action plan and work in mission mode, so that the real benefit of this welfare scheme can easily reach the beneficiaries standing at the last mile of society.
