CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Collector Priyank Mishra conducted a surprise inspection of the District Excise Department office and took a detailed review of administrative arrangements and working procedures. He closely inspected all branches of the office and issued necessary directions to make the government work system more transparent, accessible and organised.
During the inspection, Collector Mishra gave clear instructions that the 100 percent implementation of the e-office system is mandatory. He said departmental files and records must be processed only through the e-office system. He said the digital work system would not only bring transparency and speed to government work, but would also make quick and time-bound disposal of cases possible.
Collector Mishra minutely inspected the inward and outward registers, establishment branch, revenue records and files related to pending cases. He directed departmental officers to ensure that government files are maintained and preserved strictly according to rules and in an organised manner. He warned that if any laxity or negligence is found in the maintenance of records, strict punitive action will be taken against the employee concerned.
Giving strict instructions to the District Excise Officer, Collector Mishra said continuous and intensive checking drives should be carried out at the field level to effectively curb the illegal manufacture, storage, transportation and sale of liquor in the district. He directed the excise staff to conduct regular inspections, surprise raids and flag marches in sensitive areas so that strict action under the Excise Act can be taken against anti-social elements involved in activities against the rules.
Collector Mishra also instructed officials to keep the cleanliness arrangements in the office premises strong and to resolve promptly and sensitively the problems of citizens visiting for departmental services.
