CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: “In view of the Budhni Assembly by-election, Bhopal Divisional Commissioner Mr. Sanjeev Singh inspected the strong room, polling material distribution center at Eklavya Model Residential School in Budhni, and the SST checkpoints within the Budhni Assembly constituency boundaries. He provided necessary instructions to the relevant officers and staff. The Commissioner emphasized to all officers the importance of completing all necessary arrangements on time, ensuring transparency and impartiality in the election process. During the inspection, Collector Praveen Singh and SP Deepak Kumar Shukla gave a detailed briefing on voting preparations and all electoral activities.

Inspection of Polling Material Distribution Arrangements

While inspecting the polling material distribution center, the Commissioner instructed officers to ensure all necessary arrangements for a smooth election process. Commissioner Singh specifically directed the provision of CCTV monitoring, proper vehicle parking, seating for polling teams, and adequate drinking water and medical facilities. He stressed the importance of keeping CCTV cameras active and maintaining continuous surveillance of the entire premises.

Inspection of SST Checkpoints

During his inspection of the SST checkpoints at TTC and Narmada Bridge, Commissioner Singh instructed the SST team officers that no suspicious vehicle should pass without inspection. He directed the immediate seizure of excess cash, illegal substances, or items that could potentially impact the election process. He also emphasized that the public should not be inconvenienced during the inspections. Additionally, he reminded the SST officers to strictly follow the Election Commission’s guidelines and take immediate action against any violation of the code of conduct.

Inspection of Polling Centers

Commissioner Singh inspected the polling centers set up at the Government Girls School and the SDO Forest Department office. He reviewed the arrangements at these centers and instructed the officers to ensure that all facilities specified by the Election Commission of India were in place. The Commissioner directed that essential amenities such as drinking water, electricity, fans, furniture, ramps for differently-abled voters, accessible routes to the polling station, toilets, cleanliness, and wheelchairs for differently-abled voters be provided at the polling centers. Besides inspecting the polling centers, he also observed the mock poll process. Returning Officer DS Tomar, Tehsildar Saurabh Verma, and District CEO Devesh Sarathe, among other officials, were present during the inspection.”
