CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: On the 10th anniversary of International Yoga Day, the Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India, through the National Institute of Naturopathy (NIN), Pune, is organizing various activities across the country to make yoga attractive, engaging, accessible, and captivating for all. As a part of this initiative, the responsibility of organizing various programs for the youth has been entrusted to the Sant Hirdaram Medical College of Naturopathy and Yogic Sciences for Women.

Under this initiative, on June 14, 2025, a Common Yoga Protocol session was conducted at Mithi Gobindram Public School, where approximately 300 female students participated. The event was graced by retired administrative officer Sabhajeet Yadav as the chief guest and Dr. Geeta Sharma, Associate Professor and representative of NIN, Pune. Also present on the stage were Dhanashyam Boolchandani, Secretary of Shaheed Hemu Kalani Educational Society, Hero Gyanchandani, Director of the college, and Prof. Ankesh Singh, Principal.

The welcome address and vote of thanks were delivered by the Principal.

In her speech, Dr. Geeta Sharma shared that the theme of this year’s International Yoga Day is “One Earth, One Health”, and numerous engaging activities are being conducted by NIN in various cities to make yoga more appealing. She praised Sant Hirdaram Medical College, noting that its students have consistently established a unique identity everywhere.

Chief Guest Sabhajeet Yadav emphasized the importance of the Yamas and Niyamas (ethical principles of yoga), stating that wholehearted adherence to them leads to continuous progress.

Students also performed a musical yoga demonstration during the program.

Additionally, as part of the “Yoga Unplugged” activity, the college is organizing yoga-related video (reel) creation, group yoga demonstrations such as yoga pyramids and musical yoga, and an online essay competition on the theme “Healing of Body-Mind-Soul through Yoga” for school and college students.

Furthermore, on June 16, 2025, a special workshop on yoga and meditation will be conducted by Prof. Varun Malhotra from AIIMS Bhopal for the students. The same day will also feature rangoli and poster competitions.

To test students’ yoga-related knowledge, a quiz competition will be held on June 14. Also on June 14, a vibrant cultural program based on yoga will be performed in the college’s grand auditorium.

Principal Prof. (Dr.) Ankesh Singh has appealed for large-scale participation from both youth and the general public in these events.
