Commissioner Reviews School Education Department, Orders Full Class One Enrolment

CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Divisional Commissioner Karmveer Sharma chaired a review meeting of the School Education Department. At the meeting, he directed all district education officers to review and monitor efforts to improve educational quality in all districts of the division, ensure effective implementation of departmental schemes and keep schools functioning smoothly. He also instructed officials to ensure 100 percent enrolment of children in Class 1 in the new academic session across all districts of the division by July 15, monitor enrolment daily, make war-footing efforts for enrolment, connect 100 percent children with schools within a week and complete their mapping on the portal.

Divisional Commissioner Sharma directed all district education officers to appoint nodal officers in government and all non-government schools for mapping students on Education Portal 3.0. He also instructed Dharmendra Sharma, Joint Director, School Education Department, Bhopal, to send daily progress reports.

Divisional Commissioner Sharma said that, under Ankur Mission run by the School Education Department to strengthen foundational literacy and numeracy among children from Classes 1 to 3, all government schools should start preparing with clear targets in line with the 2026-27 goals. This would enable all districts of Bhopal division to perform excellently this year. Under the Ullhas Nav Bharat Literacy Programme, he said all districts should ensure identification of all adults above 15 years of age, as per the 2011 population, for proficiency in foundational literacy and numeracy. For this, a wide campaign should be conducted at ward and gram panchayat level and registration ensured on the Ullhas mobile app.

Divisional Commissioner Sharma instructed the districts to ensure 100 percent distribution of books and bicycles through the Vimarsh portal.
