CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: To control dengue, everyone’s cooperation is essential. In this regard, under the Vector-Borne Disease Control Program, awareness campaigns were conducted at the community level in places like Anganwadi centers and schools, informing people about larvae and educating them on dengue prevention. The weather has been fluctuating frequently, with warm days and cold nights, which is favorable for larvae to breed. The combination of occasional sunshine and rain further increases the need for vigilance, as such weather conditions promote the breeding of larvae. Therefore, people need to take precautions against mosquitoes.

Under the direction of Chief Medical and Health Officer Prabhakar Tiwari and the guidance of District Malaria Officer Archana Mishra, and with the support of the Godrej-implemented EMBED project, Family Health India and the District Health Committee, Bhopal, awareness campaigns were conducted through posters and banners to raise awareness about dengue and malaria among residents. Door-to-door visits and community meetings were also conducted to make people aware of dengue and malaria, encouraging them to monitor their homes and ensure that water does not stagnate for more than a week.

Residents were advised to regularly check water tanks and refrigerator trays, change the water weekly, and immediately visit a community health center for a blood test if someone in the household develops a fever. Additionally, the Malaria Zone Team and BCCF explained malaria to the community and shared preventive measures.

The BCCF and Civic Action staff were present during this initiative. The Civic Action Team conducted activities with students and the community at schools and Anganwadi centers, focusing on dengue and malaria control. The team provided information on dengue control methods, with the Malaria Team, BCCF, Youth Facilitators, and Training Coordinators also in attendance.
