CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: A political storm is brewing in Goa as the Congress party has alleged a massive ₹304.24 crore scam, accusing the ruling BJP government of deep-rooted corruption and favoritism. At the heart of the controversy is the alleged irregularity in the procurement of beach cleaning and infrastructure services, which the Congress claims were awarded without proper tendering and transparency.

Addressing a press conference, Goa Congress president Amit Patkar accused BJP leaders of acting like a “cabal of Mini-Adanis,” implying that the current administration is functioning for the benefit of a few crony capitalists rather than the public. The party has also demanded an independent investigation into the financial irregularities and questioned the silence of Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on the matter.

The Congress has released documents and alleged that the contracts were handed over to selected private players at inflated costs, resulting in a loss to the state exchequer. The party further stated that it will escalate the issue at the national level and seek judicial intervention if necessary.

The BJP, meanwhile, has rejected the allegations, calling them baseless and politically motivated. However, the issue has triggered significant debate in Goa’s political circles, especially ahead of upcoming civic and state-level elections.

This development could have larger implications in the ongoing narrative of alleged corruption under BJP rule. With public trust at stake, both parties are gearing up for a political face-off, and the citizens of Goa are watching closely.
