CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Ahead of the 2027 Assembly elections in Goa, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has announced an alliance with the Goa Forward Party (GFP). Arvind Kejriwal has named the alliance “Goa First”. The two parties are projecting it as a third alternative distinct from the BJP and the Congress.
After the alliance was announced, the Congress launched a sharp attack on the Aam Aadmi Party. Reacting to Kejriwal’s statement, Congress leader Pawan Khera described AAP as an “English-medium BJP”. He said Kejriwal himself was admitting that there was not much difference between the BJP and AAP.
While announcing the alliance, Kejriwal said that BJP voters do not vote for the Congress. He alleged that there has been political collusion between the BJP and the Congress in Goa and that the public now needs a different option. Kejriwal said the “Goa First” alliance would come before the people as a non-BJP and non-Congress alternative.
AAP and GFP have indicated that the doors of the alliance are open to other like-minded forces. In this context, ahead of the Goa Assembly elections, the alliance is being seen as a move that could create new political equations in the state.
