CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress / Bhopal: On the 167th martyrdom day of Veerangana Jhalkari Bai, Congressmen paid tribute to Jhalkari Bai by garlanding her portrait and paying floral tributes in the auditorium of the state Congress headquarters.
State Congress program coordinator Anand Taran conducted that Veerangana Jhalwari Bai had fought the British with courage and valor and forced them to chew iron gram.
Jhalkari Bai was Rani Lakshmi Bai’s special commander along with her friend, who helped Laxmi Bai to get her out of the fort safely during the war with the British and herself climbed the sacrifice altar.
State Congress office bearers Sarvri Rajiv Singh, Prakash Jain, J.P. Singh and others were also present on the occasion. Prominent among those present on the occasion were Dr. Anuradha Singh, Hemant Narwaria, Liladhar Mehra, Udayveer Singh, Geeta Jatav, Muzaffar Ali, Maheshand Meher and others.
