CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Congress Leaders Hold Workers’ Meet in Rewa, Launch Strong Attack on Government
During their visit to Rewa, senior Congress leaders including State In-Charge Harish Chaudhary, State Congress President Jitu Patwari, and All India Congress Secretary Ranvijay Singh held constituency-wise organizational discussions with party workers from Rewa, Gurh, Tyothar, Mangawan, Sirmaur, Simaria, and Mauganj (Mauganj and Devtalab constituencies). They reviewed party activities and discussed strategies for the future.
The leaders strongly criticized the state government, accusing it of creating anti-people conditions. Earlier, while addressing a party workers’ conference in Maihar, Shri Chaudhary stated that the BJP government in Madhya Pradesh is ruining the future of women, farmers, and youth. He said the government has failed to ensure safety and dignity for women, is injust to farmers, and is playing with the future of youth. He asserted that Congress would fight for the rights of these groups.
Jitu Patwari referred to the legacy of leaders like late Shriniwas Tiwari, Arjun Singh, Dr. Rajendra Singh, and Ajay Singh Rahul Bhaiya, saying that Vindhya is known for fighting for people’s rights. He emphasized that political unity is the way to ensure justice for the poor, farmers, women, and youth.
Speaking strongly against injustice to farmers, Patwari said that Congress workers will not hesitate to lay down their lives for the interests of farmers if required. He accused the state government of attempting to usurp farmers’ land under the Land Pooling Act, purchasing high-value land worth ₹50,000 per sq ft for only ₹100–₹200 per sq ft, and doing so without compensation. He alleged Rajendra Shukla’s involvement in the land deals and warned that Congress would not allow these plans to succeed. A campaign against this issue will begin from Singrauli, he announced.
Patwari further said, “If you search on Google, the top results will show BJP leaders from Madhya Pradesh in lists of rapists, corrupt politicians, and the most corrupt government.” He stressed that it is the duty of Congress to expose these wrongdoings to the public.
He also pointed out that despite setbacks in previous Assembly and Lok Sabha elections, Congress won three recent by-elections, significantly reducing the margin in Budhni, nearly winning in Amarwara, and achieving victory in Vijaypur despite the BJP allegedly distributing ₹50 crore, using its entire cabinet, administration, and officials to manipulate the election.
On healthcare infrastructure, Patwari said that most patients from Rewa-Satna travel to Nagpur for treatment because of the lack of doctors and hospitals. He criticized Deputy CM Rajendra Shukla for doing nothing for Rewa’s development. He suggested that if Shukla really wants to evaluate his work, he should travel by train or bus from Rewa to Nagpur, where many patients go daily. He also claimed that patients at Rewa’s medical college are not receiving proper treatment, and Madhya Pradesh’s healthcare system is in complete disarray.
Patwari announced that Congress will establish committees at the Panchayat level in rural areas and Mohalla Committees in urban areas to strengthen the organization and continue resistance against the anti-people government.
At the Rewa workers’ conference, senior leaders including Dr. Rajendra Singh, Ajay Singh Rahul Bhaiya, Kamleshwar Patel, and All India Congress Secretary Ranvijay Singh addressed party workers and shared Congress’s vision with the public.
Also present were MLAs Siddharth Kushwah, Abhay Mishra, District In-charge Sanjay Sharma, Rewa District Congress President Rajendra Sharma, former MLA Sukhendra Bana, Mayor Ajay Mishra, senior leader Rajmani Patel, Mauganj District President Padmesh Gautam, and a large number of Congress workers.
