Bhopal Green Donor and The Eco-Earth Institute and Research Center (EERC India) jointly celebrated Green Donor Prakriti Utsav ’26 in Bhopal with joy in a loving and spiritual atmosphere. A large number of Harit Veers from different regions of the state reiterated their commitment to Mother Nature.
Delivering a special address at the programme, Harit Veer Vahini’s national flag-bearer, environmentalist and research scholar Veerji said that in the present time, human beings have largely built a consumer relationship with Mother Nature, and the time has now come to change that relationship.
“Now we have to move from being Consumers to Donors in our relationship with Mother Nature. We must develop a culture not only of taking from nature, but also of giving back to it,” he said.
Referring to Green Donor’s theme for this year, #NowforClimate, Veerji said climate change is not a problem of the future but a reality of the present. Therefore, he said, it is now essential to move forward with the spirit of Inspired by Nature, For Climate, For Our Future. If responsible lifestyles are not adopted today, the possibilities of a healthy and secure life for future generations will continue to diminish.
Active for nearly two-and-a-half decades in spreading environmental awareness, the Green Donor family has expanded to about 14 states across the country, including Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Delhi, Chandigarh, Punjab, Bihar and Maharashtra. Every year, the organisation works with Harit Veers to revive its relationship with Mother Nature and prepares a framework for new environmental protection programmes, plans and possibilities for public participation.
Prakriti Utsav ’26 was inaugurated on behalf of the Green Donor Maha Bhopal unit by the organisation’s director, Radhika Virendra. She administered a pledge to protect Maa Haritima to Harit Veer brothers and sisters who came from Gwalior, Vidisha, Narmadapuram, Malwa division, Sagar, Ashoknagar, Rajgarh and various other parts of the state.
On the occasion, Green Donor’s social platform GD Commons – www.gdcommons.in – was also launched. The platform is fully dedicated to green living, environmental activities and the spread of positive green initiatives in society. Anyone from across the country can join the platform and share their green work and experiences with the wider public.
A live bhajan evening presented by popular singer Harit Veer Roopa and her team made the atmosphere devotional. The Harit Veers present were moved by bhajans linked to Mother Nature and spiritual consciousness.
Bhopal unit coordinator Harit Veer Dr Prem, Harit Veer Ira, Harit Veer Pragati, Harit Veer Devshree, Harit Veer Mohd. Qamar, Harit Veer Roopa, Harit Veer Prashant, Harit Veer Raju, Harit Veer Vinod, Harit Veer Vishakha, Harit Veer Ayush, Harit Veer Vrinda and Harit Veer Laxmi, along with a large number of Harit Veers, participated in the event.
The programme was organised at Woods Inn Resorts on Gondarmau Road, Bhopal. Despite continuous rain, the enthusiasm of the Harit Veers did not diminish, and their dedication to Mother Nature was visible throughout the event.
Winners of ‘Nature on Paper’ honoured
In the junior category of Green Donor’s annual drawing activity, ‘Nature on Paper – Green Creation: Nature on Paper’, Harit Veer Keshav Srivastava from Uttar Pradesh secured first place, while Harit Veer Rishika Modi from Madhya Pradesh secured second place. Both participants were honoured on the occasion of Prakriti Utsav ’26.
Under the annual honours series, Harit Veer Akhilesh from Jhansi and Harit Veer Vishakha Usha from Bhopal were honoured as team members for their special green service to the environment and the organisation. Harit Veer Poonam (Babli) from Ashoknagar was honoured as a special member.
For taking forward green activities across the state and making a notable contribution to the objectives of Green Donor, the Green Donor Pichhore unit was presented the ‘Harit Veer Seva Samman’, which was received on behalf of the unit by Harit Veer Prashant.
Prakriti Utsav ’26 once again conveyed the message that the solution to the climate crisis lies not only in policies or technology, but also in a transformation of the relationship between human beings and Mother Nature – a change in which we become not only Consumers of nature, but Donors as well.
