CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: The convocation ceremony of Barkatullah University commenced grandly at the Kushabhau Thakre Convention Center. The event was presided over by the Honorable Governor and Chancellor of Madhya Pradesh, Mangubhai Patel. The Chief Guest of the program was the Honorable Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Mohan Yadav, with Inder Singh Parmar as the Special Guest.
The ceremony began with a grand procession, in which the Governor and Chancellor, Honorable Chief Minister, Honorable Education Minister, all members of the Academic Council, all members of the Executive Council, along with the Vice Chancellor and Registrar, participated. The event was inaugurated by lighting a lamp in front of the statue of Goddess Saraswati.
At the event, 28 students were awarded gold medals, and 94 other students were conferred Ph.D. degrees. The convocation ceremony commenced with a welcome address by Barkatullah University’s Vice Chancellor, Professor S.K. Jain, who extended best wishes to all the students receiving their degrees today, encouraging them to fulfill their responsibilities toward society and the nation as they step into public life.
The convocation was held under the chief guestship of Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, with Governor and Chancellor Mangubhai Patel presiding over the ceremony. Higher Education Minister Inder Singh Parmar was present as the special guest. On this occasion, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav emphasized that after school, university and its convocation mark a significant transition in one’s journey toward a new phase in life. He also announced that in the future, Barkatullah University will provide degrees to all eligible students free of cost.
Higher Education Minister Inder Singh Parmar extended his best wishes to all the students and remarked that a convocation marks the beginning of the next phase of life, offering an opportunity for reflection. He highlighted that various aspects such as family, society, teachers, professors, and the Vice Chancellor contribute to the building of one’s life. He also noted that we owe a debt to our motherland, which we should strive to repay through good deeds. He called attention to India’s traditions and said that what we achieve should be for the country and society. He further discussed how the National Education Policy encourages research and the correction of misconceptions about India’s image in the world.
The Vice Chancellor delivered the convocation address to all the degree recipients. The ceremony concluded with the return of the procession, following the Governor and Chancellor’s permission to close the event. The atmosphere was filled with excitement and enthusiasm among the students as they received their degrees. The event was attended by teachers from all colleges under Barkatullah University, many university vice-chancellors, faculty members, students, and distinguished citizens of the city.
