New Delhi. Former Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) president Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh has again been granted time by Delhi’s Rouse Avenue court in the case of alleged sexual harassment of women wrestlers. On Wednesday, October 28, 2026, the court gave him a final opportunity to file his reply to an appeal challenging the decision acquitting him. Brij Bhushan’s lawyer appeared online and sought one week’s time to file the reply. Special Judge Dig Vinay Singh fixed the next hearing in the matter for November 20.

The appeal has been filed by four women wrestlers. They have challenged the magistrate court’s August 3, 2026 decision acquitting Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh of sexual harassment charges. The appeal has also questioned the order acquitting former WFI assistant secretary Vinod Tomar of the charge of criminal intimidation.

The court had issued notices to Brij Bhushan Singh, Vinod Tomar and Delhi Police on September 28. Thereafter, on October 9, Brij Bhushan was given additional time to file his reply. The court has now made it clear that this is the final opportunity to file the reply.

The wrestlers’ appeal argues that the lower court’s decision was based on a selective assessment of evidence and allegedly on stereotypical assumptions about the conduct of the victims. The appellants say the judgment did not properly evaluate the testimony and available evidence.

The magistrate court, meanwhile, had on August 3 acquitted Brij Bhushan Singh and Vinod Tomar of the relevant charges, citing lack of evidence. During the further hearing on the appeal, the arguments of both sides will now be heard in the appellate court. A final decision on all aspects related to the allegations and the appeal will be taken after the judicial process.
