CNN Central News & Networks / ITDC India ePress / ITDC News /Agencies/ Bhopal: A court has rejected a petition filed by a businessman seeking the return of ₹4 crore seized in Durg, Chhattisgarh. The court made it clear that the matter will be investigated. Following this decision, the issue of returning the seized amount remains stalled for now.

In his petition, the businessman had claimed that more than ₹53 crore was present in his bank account and that he had also deposited tax as per rules. On this basis, he sought the return of the seized ₹4 crore. The businessman’s position is that records of his financial transactions and income are available.

However, the court did not allow the return of the seized amount on the basis of this argument and considered an investigation necessary. The agencies concerned will now examine the financial transactions linked to the case, the source of the money and other documents. The findings of the investigation will be important in this case. The claims made by the businessman and the facts related to the seized amount will be verified during the investigation. For now, after the court’s order, the seizure of ₹4 crore remains in place.
